Seniors-Class of 2010
HOURS
REMINDER!!!!!!!!!  "HOURS" COUNT STARTED ON OCTOBER 12, 2009
The attendance policy limits total number of absences for the school year to (60) sixty hours.  Students exceeding sixty hours of absences may be excluded from participating in Prom and the Graduation ceremony. The appeal process is available for those students who have or will exceed sixty hours, that begins in late Spring 2010.

PORTFOLIO
Parents of seniors: the Senior Portfolio is available in the Career Center. Completing the Portfolio is a requirement for your child to participate in Senior activities such as walking the stage at Graduation, Prom and Grad Nite. The due date is January, 2010. If your child needs assistance please have them contact the Career Advisor, Ms. Levy, in Room C-9.

SERVICE LEARNING
Service Learning is a community project that students should have completed in their Junior year, in their U.S. History class. The project could be service in a retirement home, collecting clothes for the homeless, or a similar civic duty to our community. Not an hours-based requirement, but one that can be documented as a hands-on opportunity for students to learn civic responsibility. See Mrs. Bryant, Assistant Principal, in the Counseling Office for more info.

SENIOR STOP CLEARANCE
In early June, 2010, we will post the “Senior Stop Clearance List” in the window of the Assistant Principals' Office. Listed will be all Library, textbook or classroom books, any unpaid fees or unreturned equipment that a Senior owes to Carson High School. If your Senior student is on this list, he/she will not be permitted to pick up their cap and gown. It is not too early to check with the textbook room, or your teenager if they have anything owed from previous semesters -- Don’t wait until the last minute!
